Publication Ethics for Researchers and Authors

At GJMS, we are committed to publishing only original, high-quality research that adheres to the highest ethical standards. We follow the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (CoPE) to ensure the integrity of our journal. Researchers submitting their work for publication must adhere to these best practices and guidelines.
Key points from the CoPE guidelines are summarized below:
  • Originality and Plagiarism: Research content must be original. Plagiarism should not exceed 20% of the total content.

  • Publication Status: The research must not have been previously published elsewhere nor submitted for publication to other journals.

  • Language Quality: Submissions must be free from spelling and grammatical errors.

  • Ethical Conduct: Research should be conducted ethically and responsibly, in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

  • Data Integrity: Results should be presented clearly, honestly, and without any fabrication, falsification, or inappropriate manipulation of data.

  • Methodological Transparency: Methods should be described in detail to allow for replication and verification of findings.

  • Accuracy and Completeness: Research must be accurate, consistent, complete, and unbiased.

  • Content Integrity: The content must not be misleading, hateful, crime-inducing, pornographic, defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, or vulgar.

  • Malware and Viruses: Research content must be free from electronic malware or viruses intended to cause harm.

  • Proper Attribution: Appropriate credit must be given for any data, designs, methods, or ideas from other sources that are referenced in the research.

  • Copyright Compliance: Adhere to applicable copyright laws and conventions. Reproduce copyrighted material only with proper permission and acknowledgment.

  • Authorship and Contributions: Clearly disclose the roles and contributions of each author or researcher involved in the study.

  • Funding and Support: Disclose all sources of research funding, including direct and indirect financial support, equipment or material provision, and any other assistance (e.g., statistical or writing support).

  • Privacy and Consent: Avoid including personally identifiable information of individuals other than the researchers without their explicit consent.

  • Enforcement: Failure to adhere to these guidelines during the review process or after publication may result in the removal or retraction of the research article from the journal. Compliance with these standards is essential to maintain the credibility and quality of our publication.
